The brick-made building facing Marnixstraat is Politiebureau Raampoort, designed by architect Willem Springer and built in 1888. This police station originated in an area around the Jordaan district and was moved in 2015, after more than 120 years of operation. This historic building was designated as a protected historic building of the Netherlands in 2001. The building with a clock tower – a mixture of the neoclassical and medieval styles – is a symbol of Marnixstraat. The beautifully renovated interior of the building has about 900m2 area, consisting of four aboveground levels and one underground level. We mainly exhibit our unique products, including Japanesemade furniture, lights, tableware (ceramic ware and glassware), textiles (towels), as well as daily commodities, bonsai, and contemporary arts. We basically provide Japanese-style services by Japanese staff, just like in shops in Japan. Through conversations with each customer, we carefully explain the characteristics and functionality of the products, background of manufacturing, and maintenance services. We provide products for any kind of interior projects (including for general houses, hotels, restaurants, and shops), and propose comprehensive space designs. We comprehensively express Japanese aesthetics of today and realistic lifestyles rooted in tradition, by exhibiting Japanese designs, traditional crafts, and contemporary arts throughout the year.

In pursuit of providing affluence and comfort with true value, realistic spaces are expressed in this shop. By understanding the residents’ sense of values, we aim to propose spaces, including living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms, which would lead to an irreplaceable time and life. The spacious shop basically consists of a combination of basic materials. It also includes textiles (curtains, rugs, and cushions), Japanese traditional bonsai art, and contemporary art works. By recreating seasonal and temporal changes in Japan, we desire to provide attentive services by our staff members in the space filled with Japanese delicate aesthetics and a sense of tension. The shop is an embodiment of an affluent and comfortable life, involving exhibitions of arts and crafts and musical events, in addition to the proposing of interiors. It is the symbolic shop of TIME & STYLE, being an international point of transmission in Japan. Due to the location in central Tokyo, customers from all over Japan or the world gather and meet here. At this valuable location, we welcome customers. TIME & STYLE MIDTOWN is located in mixed-use development “Tokyo Midtown”, which includes a hotel (The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo), cultural facilities (Suntory Museum of Art), and many offices. Located at the center of Japan, the embassies of various countries, major facilities, and businesses are accumulated around Tokyo Midtown.
